Suitable as a tone corrector to obtain brown and ash shades, thanks to its mild brown pigment. Walnut shell is traditionally used to dye hair and fabrics and it is possible to use the dyeing pigments contained both in the husk and in the leaves of the plant. It is recommended to use it always in combination with dyeing powders to obtain a visible effect.
The use of pure walnut shell powder is not recommended because it does not allow for very intense color results. Combined with Lawsonia (Red Henna No. 2 or No. 3), with the addition of Indigofera (Black Henna) or Katam, however, it gains strength, giving visible results on brown hair. When combined with blonde hair dyes, it helps to dull the highlights.
